Dan Wood, LMSW, ACSW
Mr. Wood received his Master’s of Social Work from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University, where he majored in psychology. As a licensed therapist, Dan has experience providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy for adults and adolescents. He enjoys helping his clients to navigate life on their own terms; providing an authentic person-centered environment that allows for his clients to be explorative, gain personal insight and positive outlook, and build confidence to sustain meaningful change.
Dan specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, relational and marital difficulty, self-esteem, grief and loss, eating disorders, anger management, mood disorders, PTSD, and childhood trauma. Dan likes to tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of his clientele and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and solution-focused approaches in helping his clients to achieve their goals.

Linda Anderson, MS, LPC
Ms Anderson received her Masters in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo MI. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing since 1991. Areas of interest and experience in providing treatment are: Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Parenting, Bereavement, and Christian Counseling. Linda uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to Counseling.

Nicole Greer, LMSW
Ms. Greer is a licensed therapist who received her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University. She incorporates her clinical research background in her practice providing individual, family and group therapy.
Nicole specializes in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, grief and loss, self-esteem, anger management and substance use disorders. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a trauma informed approach to support her clients. Her focus is to provide a calm, non-judgmental, and trusting space for her clients to gain self-awareness and to transcend to their full potential.

Mary Richards, LMSW, SSW
Ms Richards is a positive, supportive and genuine person by nature, which probably led her to choose a social work career. She is a University of Michigan graduate with many years (30 plus) of experience working mainly with families, children and staff to help students be successful in school. Aside from many years of experience and continued enthusiasm for the profession, she values the client-therapist connection. Mary sees this connection as the most powerful dynamic to help people improve their situations by gaining skills and learning insights that bring them in and move them into being able to find more joy in themselves and their lives.

Mary's educational foundation has been a family systemic approach and she loves the many pioneers whose work with families paved the way for us in our graduate programs. Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma informed sensitivities and strategies have shaped her service delivery interventions. She is excited to continue to learn from professional icons while also valuing her colleagues and clients as an avenue to hone her skills and become a better clinician.

Philip Barker, LMSW, ACSW, SSW
Mr. Barker has over 40 years of experience in the field of social work, including over 20 years as a school social worker and six years as president of the Michigan Association of School Social Workers.
Mr. Barker utilizes several styles of treat​ment when working with individuals, couples, and families. His treatment modalities include cognitive therapy, DBT, art therapy, play therapy, trauma-focused CBT, skill building, motivational interviewing, systems theory, and solution-focused brief therapy. Mr. Barker believes in a strength-based and activity-based approach when working with his clients.

Helen Sowards-Emmerd, LMSW
Ms. Sowards-Emmerd has 16+ years of experience as a licensed clinical therapist. Helen received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola
University and her Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Michigan. She creates a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to explore current struggles. Helen uses practical tools and strategies that empower you to overcome obstacles, grow, build confidence and self-esteem, and move forward on a path towards greater well-being.
Helen specializes in working with adults and adolescents in the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, anger management, binge eating disorder, substance use disorders, and life transitions.
She utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

Jacquelynn Johnson, LLMSW, ACSW
Ms Johnson has over 30 years of experience working in child welfare and mental health. She uses positive regard, motivational interviewing, a solution focused approach, art, play, and an understanding of human development and trauma to support individuals, families, and children. Ms Johnson has a passion for adoptive families.

Douglas McComas, MS, LMSW
Mr. McComas has over 40 years of experience in treatment of children, teens and adults. Doug's practice includes the treatment of ADHD, conduct disorders, abuse and neglect issues, depression and anxiety concerns. He provides both individual and family therapy. Doug is a certified Parents as Teachers supervisor and a past infant mental health program supervisor. Mr. McComas also provides training to other clinicians across the state of Michigan.

Catherine Kattula, LMSW, ACSW

With over 25 years of clinical experience, I bring a personalized approach to therapy that draws from Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, EMDR, and Somatic Therapy. I specialize in working with women, teens, and members of the LGBTQ+ community - always with respect for your unique experiences and strengths.
Sessions are available in person or through telehealth. Our office is nestled in a quiet, wooded setting where nature offers a sense of calm.

Dr. Kamal Ghazi, DBH
Dr. Kamal Taymour Ghazi, an adjunct faculty member at Jackson College in the Department of Psychology, begins his academic journey with the attainment of a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University. Prior to this achievement, he earned his Master's in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Dr. Ghazi's educational foundation was laid with a Bachelor's in Science from Spring Arbor University. Complementing his academic credentials, Dr. Ghazi also holds a Certificate in Addiction and Recovery and Substance Use Disorder from Arizona State University and a Certificate in Integrated Behavioral Health Clinical Care.
During his clinical training at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital University of Michigan Health, Dr. Ghazi focused on Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, explicitly working with adolescents and young adults. He contributed to the Adolescent and Young Adults Program Cancer Research Team, delving into psychosocial factors during remission, fertility preservation, and the long-term effects of chemotherapy.

Drawing upon his diverse training and experiences, Dr. Ghazi adeptly navigates the complexities of human emotions. He employs a comprehensive approach, integrating various therapeutic modalities to provide holistic care for individuals grappling with issues like marital discord, depressive symptoms, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, unresolved anger, and childhood trauma.
Previously, Dr. Ghazi served as the Medical Advocacy Coordinator at EVE and coordinated sexual assault responses in the Capital Area as part of an interdisciplinary team. He holds Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) certifications from UC Davis University and The Science of Well-being from Yale University. Dr. Ghazi also received specialized training at the University of Michigan in areas such as psychosocial assessments, sexual health assessment, intimate partner violence, and substance use & recovery.
Various entities, including State Senator Mike Shirky, U.S. Senator Debby Stabenow, State Representative Sarah Anthony, and Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, have recognized his outstanding contributions. Dr. Ghazi is deeply committed to his community, having received the Under 30 Successful Award in his hometown of Jackson. He actively participates in the Rotary Club of Jackson and has completed the Jackson Citizen Police Academy.
